Your host, Timea E Nagy, a human trafficking survivor and best-selling author, was trafficked at the age of 21. Shortly after her escape, she met a police officer and an immigration officer, who quickly became her only support and lifeline for the coming years. She often credits them for her emotional recovery at the time.
She founded an organization and spent 6 years as a mobile crisis support worker in Canada and 3 years as a law enforcement trainer in the US, where she also assisted law enforcement victim rescue operations and worked with agencies such as the FBI, Homeland Security, and the Houston Texas HT Taskforce. She also travelled globally to educate first responders and service providers on trauma-informed victim care and self-care. Timea honours those who supported her and aims to prevent burnout and emotional struggles. She has reached over 200,000 frontline workers to date.
